How do I complete the auction process once I have won an item?

MrBuyGuy has a comprehensive auction managment system once you have won an auction.  When you win an auction either by been the highest bidder on an auction or by using the instant buy option, MrBuyGuy will send you an email.This email will congragulate you on your win and ask you to click on a link.  This link will take you to the auction management area.  Alternatively you can also find this link by logging into your MrBuyGuy account clicking on My Account on the top header of the website, clicking on the buying tab on the left hand side and clicking on won auctions.  Then under the selected auction click on the choose link and press the manage option

There are several steps to complete when managing your won item.  The first is to confirm the address that you would like the item to be shipped to.  Your default address will be displayed initially however if you would like to you can choose other addresses that you have saved.  Once you have selected your address you can then choose the shipping method for your item.  Depending on the location of the seller and the sellers shipping options selected for the item, different shipping methods will be displayed. For example,  if your purchasing an item in the same country as the seller you may be given a list of different shipping options to select from.  Alternatively if the seller has offered free shipping you will not be charged for the shipping. 

If you are buying an item from a different country you will be prompted to contact the seller in order to receive a shipping cost based on your shipping location. Once the shipping cost has been confirmed you can then select the payment method you would like to use to pay for the item,  again it will depend on the sellers selected payment methods for what payment options will be available.  For example, if the seller selects Paypal as a payment method you will be able to automatically go to Paypal and pay for the item.  Once the item has been payed for, the seller will be notified that the item is ready for shipping.  Alternatively you can pay through direct deposit,  in this case you will be presented with the sellers bank account details and will be able to pay through internet banking or at the banks local branch. 

Once you have payed through this method you can let the seller know and they can look out for the payment at their end.  Once the seller has shipped the item they will send a confirmation to MrBuyGuy and you will receive an email with this confirmation as well as any track and trace details for the item.  When you recieve the item you can go back to the manage auction section and confirm you have recieved the item.  At this point you will also be prompted to place feedback on the item.  MrBuyGuy highly recommends that you place feedback for every auction you participate in because it helps make the auction community a safer environment.

How do I change my password?

Here's how to change your password:

  1. Click My Account at the top of the page.
  2. Click the My Account tab.
  3. Click Change Password on the left hand side of the page.
  4. Enter your current password and your new password in the spaces provided. You will have to type your new password a second time to confirm it.
  5. Click Change.

How can I share my feedback on a transaction?

You can share feedback by filling out a Feedback Form after you complete the transaction. 

How can I see the price of an item that has already been sold?

You can search for Completed Listings. These are listings that have ended within the last 15 days, whether or not the item sold.

To search for completed listings:

1.    Click Advanced Search.

2.     Enter two or three words that describe the item in the Enter keywords or item number field.

3.     Select Completed Listings in the Search Including section.

4.       Click Search. 

How do I edit my personal information?

It's easy to edit personal information, such as your email address or mobile phone number.

Log in to MrBuyGuy.com and then click on My Account at the top of the page.

From there, click on the My Account tab. This will take you to a page where you can edit your personal information.

I want to find items sold by a particular seller. What should I do?

 If you wish to search for items which are currently being sold by a particular seller or you want to display the sellers entire past sales then by knowing seller’s user ID, you can do so easily.


To search for items by seller:

1.     Click Advanced Search

2.     Click Items by Seller.

3.     Enter the seller’s user ID. If you don't know what it is,hen select Show close and exact user ID matches.

4.     Click Search.

I can't find the item I listed. Where is it?

Listings are not searchable until 24 hours after they are placed.

Ttry one of these methods to find your listing. 

  • View the listing in your dashboard. 
  • Search by seller, using Advanced Seach.
  • Search by item number, using Advanced Search. Your confirmation email from MrBuyGuy will state your item number.

 

Can I withdraw my listing?

 Whether or not you can withdraw  a listing before it expires depends on the type of listing and, if it is a General Listing with a reserve, whether  the reserve has been met or not. 

You can withdraw a general listing before it expires, up to an hour before expiration. If you withdraw within an hour after placing the listing, MrBuyGuy will refund all of your listing and promotional fees. After the first hour, you may have to pay an additional fee to withdraw your listing.

You may withdraw a classified listing at any time. There is no fee for withdrawing a classified listing.

Whenever you withdraw a listing, you must state a reason for the withdrawal. If you make repeated withdrawals that MrBuyGuy considers unjustified, your account my be suspended.

How do I offer free shipping?

 Click List Item at the top of the page, then Sell Item, then fill out your listing. After you enter the details about your product, you will arrive at a section which asks you for shipping information. You will have two choices:

  • Free shipping
  • Specify shipping costs

Select Free shipping if you don't want your buyer to pay for shipping.

How do I update my default payment methods?

The first time you place a listing on MrBuyGuy you will be prompted to set your default payment methods. 

MrBuyGuy offers the following payment methods when selling an auction:

  • Paypal
  • Google checkout
  • Direct deposit
  • cash
  • cheque

The first time you sell on MrBuyGuy you will be able to select which payment methods you would like to offer.  Once done listing on MrBuyGuy, these methods will be available for you to select.  If you would like to update these default paymentmethods - for example change the email address of your Paypal account or update your bank account details - simply login to MrBuyGuy click on the my account link on the top header of the website and click on the account tab.  Under the information section on the left hand side, click on the payment methods option.  Your default payment methods will now be updated.
