How do I complete the auction process once I have won an item?

MrBuyGuy has a comprehensive auction managment system once you have won an auction.  When you win an auction either by been the highest bidder on an auction or by using the instant buy option, MrBuyGuy will send you an email.This email will congragulate you on your win and ask you to click on a link.  This link will take you to the auction management area.  Alternatively you can also find this link by logging into your MrBuyGuy account clicking on My Account on the top header of the website, clicking on the buying tab on the left hand side and clicking on won auctions.  Then under the selected auction click on the choose link and press the manage option

There are several steps to complete when managing your won item.  The first is to confirm the address that you would like the item to be shipped to.  Your default address will be displayed initially however if you would like to you can choose other addresses that you have saved.  Once you have selected your address you can then choose the shipping method for your item.  Depending on the location of the seller and the sellers shipping options selected for the item, different shipping methods will be displayed. For example,  if your purchasing an item in the same country as the seller you may be given a list of different shipping options to select from.  Alternatively if the seller has offered free shipping you will not be charged for the shipping. 

If you are buying an item from a different country you will be prompted to contact the seller in order to receive a shipping cost based on your shipping location. Once the shipping cost has been confirmed you can then select the payment method you would like to use to pay for the item,  again it will depend on the sellers selected payment methods for what payment options will be available.  For example, if the seller selects Paypal as a payment method you will be able to automatically go to Paypal and pay for the item.  Once the item has been payed for, the seller will be notified that the item is ready for shipping.  Alternatively you can pay through direct deposit,  in this case you will be presented with the sellers bank account details and will be able to pay through internet banking or at the banks local branch. 

Once you have payed through this method you can let the seller know and they can look out for the payment at their end.  Once the seller has shipped the item they will send a confirmation to MrBuyGuy and you will receive an email with this confirmation as well as any track and trace details for the item.  When you recieve the item you can go back to the manage auction section and confirm you have recieved the item.  At this point you will also be prompted to place feedback on the item.  MrBuyGuy highly recommends that you place feedback for every auction you participate in because it helps make the auction community a safer environment.

How do I update my default payment methods?

The first time you place a listing on MrBuyGuy you will be prompted to set your default payment methods. 

MrBuyGuy offers the following payment methods when selling an auction:

  • Paypal
  • Google checkout
  • Direct deposit
  • cash
  • cheque

The first time you sell on MrBuyGuy you will be able to select which payment methods you would like to offer.  Once done listing on MrBuyGuy, these methods will be available for you to select.  If you would like to update these default paymentmethods - for example change the email address of your Paypal account or update your bank account details - simply login to MrBuyGuy click on the my account link on the top header of the website and click on the account tab.  Under the information section on the left hand side, click on the payment methods option.  Your default payment methods will now be updated.

How to start looking

You can choose any several different methods to find the product you want on MrBuyGuy.com.

1. Use the Search Box

Just type the name of the product you're looking for in the Search box. If you like, you can narrow your search by category. Simply choose one of the categories from the drop down box. Once you're done, click on the magnifying glass to the right of the Search box.  A page showing all of those products available on MrBuyGuy.com will appear.

2. Shop by Category

Go to the list of categories on the left-hand side of the page, and then click on the category you want, or click on one of the category photos on the main Shopping page. You'll see a page with all the products in that category.

3. Shop Featured Listings or Most Popular Today

If you're interested in one of our featured listings or most popular products, just click on the product's name, and you'll be brought to a page where you can compare prices and make a purchase.

4. Shop by Brand

If you'd like to by a product by a particular brand, just click on the brand logo at the bottom of the main Shopping page. You'll be taken to a page listing all the products by that brand available on MrBuyGuy.

What are add ons?

An add on is a feature that doesn't normally come with your level of membership. You can purchase that feature separately, without upgrading you entire store. For example, if you have a Sapphire store and want to use a feature that is not available for Sapphire stores but is available for Ruby or Diamond stores, you can buy that specific feature.

If you’re thinking about upgrading your account but aren’t sure, buying an add on is a good way to test the benefits of an upgrade.

How do I complete the auction process once i have sold an item?

MrBuyGuy's comprehensive auction management system allows you to complete your auction once you have sold your item. When your item has been sold,  MrBuyGuy will send you an email, congragulating you on the sale of your item and letting you know the details, such as howm cuh t the item sold for and who the purchaser was. 

The email will also contain a link that will take you to the auction managment area.  Alternatively, you can also find this link by logging in to your MrBuyGuy, then clicking on Sold Items under Selling in your dashboard.  Click Choose under the item you have sold, then click Manage.  The Auction Manager page will give you information about the sale, such as the buyer's name, their feedback and profile rating, when they were last online, how much your item sold for and the associated shipping charge.  It will also tell you when the buyer was last online.  Underneath this information, you will see the current status of the auction sale process. 

If you do not hear from the buyer within a reasonable period you can send them a reminder from this page.  To do this simply click Resend Payment Details.   MrBuyGuy will then send the buyer an email reminding them to pay you.  

Sometiimes, you may receive an email from the buyer asking you to confirm shipping costs associated with the auction, for example, if the buyer is based overseas of if you didn't clarify the shipping costs when you listed the auction.  If this happnes,  confirm the shipping costs by clicking on the link provided in the email and entering the total shipping cost.  You will be able to see the buyers shipping address, which will help you determine what the shipping cost should be.  Once you have confirmed the shipping cost the buyer will be notified and should pay for the item.  You will be notified once they have paid.

If payment is via direct deposit, you whill have to check your bank statement for payment.   Once you receive the payment, return to Auction Manager and  confirm that the buyer has paid.

Once your buyer has paid you will be prompted to ship the item. You can enter in any track and trace details in the text area provided.  Once you have shipped your item, confirm this in Auction Manager.  The buyer will then be notified to look out for the package. Once they receive the package, they will confirm this, and you will receive a notification that the package has been received. 

At this point, the auction process will have  been completed. You will then be prompted to provide feedback on the buyer.

What is a Classified Ad?

A classified ad is an ad that allows the buyer to make a purchase by contacting the seller directly. No bidding is a involved. Placing a classified ad is a quick and simple way to make a sale.

I can't find the item I listed. Where is it?

Listings are not searchable until 24 hours after they are placed.

Ttry one of these methods to find your listing. 

  • View the listing in your dashboard. 
  • Search by seller, using Advanced Seach.
  • Search by item number, using Advanced Search. Your confirmation email from MrBuyGuy will state your item number.

 

I won an item but no longer want to buy it. What should I do?

You are obliged to buy the item that won, as your bid is considered a contract.

If you think you  have a valid reason for cancelling your purchase, contact the seller and explain your position. The seller may understand your concern and be willing to work with you. If the seller does not accept your explanation, you must purchase the item. if you fail to do so, an unpaid item will be documented in your account. Too many unpaid items can lead to account restriction or suspension.
