How does MrBuyGuy calculate my positive feedback percentage?

MrBuyGuy calculates your positive feedback percentage by looking at all of your feedback from transactions over the last 12 months. If the same member gives you the same feedback multiple times, it is counted only once.

Dividing the number of positive feedback ratings by the total number of feedback ratings gives your positive feedback percentage.

For example, suppose you have 100 positive ratings, 4 neutal ratings and one negative rating.

Your positive feedback percentage is:

100 ÷ 100+4+1 or  95.2%.

What type of items can i sell on MrBuyGuy?

On MrBuyGuy you can buy and sell almost anything.  When clicking on the sell tab on the top header of the website you will be asked to select your auction type.

The first type is general listing.  this would be goods such as CD's, DVD's, general household items, clothing, basically any item which can be auctioned off.  A general listing will allow a user to bid on the auction, you can specify a reserve price if you like, which means the item will not be sold until the reserve is met.

The second listing type is an instant buy.  This is where you can enter in a fix price that you would like to sell the item for.  A buyer can purchase the item at any time during the listing duration for the fixed price that you specify.

The third type is a classified ad.  A classified ad allows you to enter in a price that you would like to sell the item for.  Buyers will contact you using an enquiry form.  You can select the buyer that you would like to sell the item to.  Classified ads are useful if you would want to have more interaction with the buyer before the item is sold.

The next three items are for specific listing types.

The first option is for a car or motor vehicle.  If you are selling a vehicle select this option, this will then give you specific fields for you to enter in about your vehicle.

The second option is for property.  If you are selling a property or looking to rent or lease a property then select the property section.  This will give to specific fields about your property so you can capture more details when creating a listing.

The third option is for a job position.  This will ensure that your listing is set up in a job listing format and also provides some additional fields for trying to fill your job vacancy.

Can I remove a bid which I have placed on an auction?

Yes, you are entitled to remove your leading bid once on an auction.  We have implemented this feature in the chance that an incorrect bidding amount is entered.

You may retract up to one bid per auction. You are required to list a reason for withdrawing your bid.

Your membership may be suspended with repeated unjustified bid retracts. Withdrawing bids should be used in cases where the bid amount entered was incorrect or for another valid reason.

I won an item but no longer want to buy it. What should I do?

You are obliged to buy the item that won, as your bid is considered a contract.

If you think you  have a valid reason for cancelling your purchase, contact the seller and explain your position. The seller may understand your concern and be willing to work with you. If the seller does not accept your explanation, you must purchase the item. if you fail to do so, an unpaid item will be documented in your account. Too many unpaid items can lead to account restriction or suspension.

What is the reserve price?

The reserve price is the lowest price the seller will accept for the item. The seller will not sell anything Below the reserve price,  even if the listing ends without any bids.  You will only see the reserve price if you bid on an auction style listing. If the reserve price has not been met, the listing will show this.
