How do I edit my personal information?

It's easy to edit personal information, such as your email address or mobile phone number.

Log in to MrBuyGuy.com and then click on My Account at the top of the page.

From there, click on the My Account tab. This will take you to a page where you can edit your personal information.

Why was my account suspended?

MrBuyGuy will suspend your account if you violate the website Terms & Conditions.

Contact us to find out why your account was suspended.

What is the reserve price?

The reserve price is the lowest price the seller will accept for the item. The seller will not sell anything Below the reserve price,  even if the listing ends without any bids.  You will only see the reserve price if you bid on an auction style listing. If the reserve price has not been met, the listing will show this.

Why can't I log in?

If you can't log in to MrBuyGuy.com, you may be using the wrong username, email address or password, or your cookies may be disabled.

Wrong username, email, address or password

If you enter a wrong username, email address or password, you'll see an error message. If you forgot your password, ask for a password reset. MrBuyGuy will email you with information on how to reset your password.

Cookies disabled

A cookie is a small file that is stored in your computer. Cookies let you log in to websites and allow the websites to work effectively. If your cookies are disabled, you may not be able to log in to MrBuyGuy or use the site correctly. 

Your cookies are controlled by your browser. You can enable cookies by changing your browser preferences. Below, you will find where to go to control cookies on the most common browsers:

Cookies can be affected by a firewall, which can prevent your cookie information from being sent to a website, and by browsing acceleration software, which sometimes removes cookie data.

How do I change my email address for notifications?

You can change your email address for receiving notifications in a few simple steps:

  1. Log in to MrBuyGuy.com
  2. Click My Account at the top of the page.
  3. Click the My Account tab.
  4. Click Subscriptions on the left hand side of the page.
  5. Type in your new email address in the box under Your Seller & Buyer email notifications.
  6. Click Change.

How do I sell an item on MrBuyGuy?

 You must  Register with MrBuyGuy before you can start selling. Once you're registered and have logged in, you can start selling by clicking on the Sell  at the top of the page.

 

This will take you to the item category page.

You will be asked to select a category for your item. Once you select the main category, you will see an option to  select a sub-categories and, in some cases,  a sub-sub-category.   If you would like to add a second category, you can do this for an additional fee by ticking 'Add a Second Category'.

After you've chosen your category, click 'Save and Continue'.

Now you will be asked to select your auction type. You can choose from one of three types.

Select 'General Listing' to auction off your item. Members will be able to bid on the item. If you like, you can set a reserve price for that auction. If you set a reserve price, the item cannot be sold at less than the reserve.

Select 'Instant Buy' to sell your item at a fixed price. A buyer can purchase the item immediately by clicking 'Buy Now'. The instant buy feature allows you to sell your item for a fixed price. The member can purchase the item at any time by simply clicking buy now.

If you place a 'Classified Ad', buyers can contact you directly via MrBuyGuy.com. You and the buyer negotiate the price and the terms of sale. You may select your buyer rather than wait for a buyer to seek out your item.  

In this example below im going to list a general listing, so il select the first option from the drop down. Directly under that there is a text field which asks you if you know the UPC, EAN or the ISBN of the product. This is typically the product bar code. If you know this enter it in and various fields will be automatically populated for you when listing your item. The item I am listing today does not have a bar code so im gonna press save and continue.

 Some tips before you place your listings: 

  • Search out your competition on MrBuyGuy, see what precise products they are offering in your league and the kind of prices they are quoting.
  • Comply with the Terms & Conditions and Restricted Items of the website.
  • Choose the appropriate category for your products.

 

I have paid for an item but have not received it. What should I do?

 If you have paid for an item but you have not received it, or if you have not heard from the seller since paying for the item,  your first course of action should be to contact the seller.  Bear in mind that on weekends and on public holidays sellers might not be working.  Give the seller sufficient time to get back to you. 

If you fail to hear back from the seller after a reasonable length of time, your next course of action is to use MrBuyGuy Buyer Protection.

To do this, select Dispute under the Choose option next to your won auction.  This will take you to the Dispute section where you can enter in the details of the dispute you would like to submit.  Once you have completed and submitted your information, the seller will be notified and a formal dispute wlll be placed  against them.  The seller will then be prompted to reply to the dispute. 

Tthe buyer and seller should work together to solve the problem. 

If the seller does not reply, MrBuyGuy will intervene and try to contact the seller for you.  In some cases, we will suspend the seller and pass details on to law enforcements to bring legal action against sellers who are committing fraud.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

If you don't remember your password, you can ask MrBuyGuy to reset it for you. Follow these simple steps:

  • At the login page,click I forgot my details. This will take you to a page where you can reset your password.
  • In the Email Address box enter the email address you provided when you registered with MrBuyGuy.
  • Click Reset.
  • Check your email inbox for an email fromMrBuyGuy telling you how to reset your password.
  • Follow the instructions in the email.

How do I place a Classified Ad?

The process for placing a classified ad is similar to that for placing an auction listing.

Click Sell Item underneath List Item at the top of the page.

You will be taken to a listings page.

Then either fill in the item’s UPC / EAN or ISBN or select the item’s category.

Click Save and Continue.

When prompted to choose your listing type, select Classified Ad.

Click Save and Continue, then follow the prompts.

How can I work with Search to help me find the items I want?

 You can alter the amount of information about each item and choose as to how your search results are sorted  by clicking Customize View at the top of the results page.

Things you can do:                             

·         Select the columns you want to display and change their order

·         Show more information about each item, including item number and location.

·        Show more seller on view more seller information, including the seller’s User ID and Feedback ranking.

·         Choose how your items are sorted.

Click Apply Changes button once you made your changes in order to apply your preferences each time you log in.
